Oil Cleanser
SKIN1004
Madagascar Centella Light Cleansing Oil
A first-cleanse formula built for reactive skin — eleven ingredients, no fillers. The ester-oil base emulsifies SPF and sebum on contact with water, rinsing clean without residue. Centella asiatica at 1% keeps the process anti-inflammatory from start to finish. Note: contains fragrance oils — patch test if fragrance-sensitive.
Active ingredient
Centella Asiatica (1%), Jojoba Seed Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil
Aesu’s POV
True benefit for the cleansing job and the centella — the ester-oil base is light, rinses cleanly, and 1% centella is a real dose for a rinse-off product. The honest tension: a product marketed for reactive skin includes three aromatic oils with known sensitization potential.
What it does
The real benefit
Oil cleansers dissolve what water cannot — SPF actives, sebum, pigmented cosmetics — then emulsify cleanly with water. The ester-oil base rinses without residue. Centella at 1% is a meaningful dose for a rinse-off product, potentially reducing cleansing-triggered redness and supporting barrier integrity during a step that itself can be a source of irritation. The minimal formula lowers cumulative irritation risk compared to botanical-heavy alternatives.
What it does not
The honest limits
Does not remove waterproof eye makeup without a dedicated eye remover first. Despite the anti-inflammatory positioning, contains bergamot, geranium, and rose damascena oils — documented sensitizers with limonene and linalool — not ideal for clinically fragrance-sensitized skin. Not a treatment: this cleanses; it does not address acne, pores, or lasting hydration.
Ritual
How to use
Apply to dry skin with dry hands as the first cleansing step, morning or evening. Massage gently for thirty to sixty seconds, then add lukewarm water and massage until the oil turns milky. Rinse thoroughly and follow with a low-pH gel or foam cleanser.
