1025 Dokdo Cleanser

The gentlest way into low-pH cleansing. A cushiony foam built on mild sulfate-free surfactants that rinses without stripping. Deep sea water from 1,025 metres below Ulleungdo Island, ceramide NP, triple hyaluronic acid — unusually supportive for a cleanser.

Aesu’s POV

True benefit on the surfactant and pH storymild, sulfate-free, pH 5–6, well-formulated for daily use on sensitive skin. The ceramide and HA are incidental; the deep sea water is narrative. Buy this as a good gentle second cleanser, not as a barrier-repair treatment.

What it does

The real benefit

The sulfate-free surfactant system at pH 5.0–6.0 sits within the skin's natural acid mantle range — documented to preserve the skin microbiome more effectively than alkaline foaming cleansers. Allantoin and panthenol reduce post-cleansing tightness and redness. Deep sea mineral water contributes trace magnesium, calcium, and potassium associated in some dermatological studies with improved hydration.

What it does not

The honest limits

Does not remove waterproof makeup, heavy foundation, or sunscreen — always pair with an oil cleanser first. Ceramide NP and hyaluronic acid appear near the bottom of the INCI: trace concentrations cannot meaningfully repair the barrier through a rinse-off product. May cause mild tightness on very dry skin in Swiss winter conditions.

How to use

Use as the second cleansing step after an oil cleanser, or as your sole cleanser on days without SPF or makeup. Apply a small amount to wet skin, work into a lather, massage for thirty to forty-five seconds, then rinse thoroughly. Pat dry and follow with toner and serum.
