Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence Rx

The ferment-first essence that competes directly with SK-II at a fraction of the price — not because it contains the same Galactomyces Pitera, but because it works. Yeast Ferment Extract is listed before water in the INCI, meaning ferment is the actual solvent. For skin that wants barrier, brightness, and texture refinement in one step, this is the benchmark.

What it does

The real benefit

Ferment essences carry some of the strongest published evidence in K-beauty. A 12-month longitudinal study (Choi et al., MDPI 2023) showed Saccharomyces ferment significantly reduced wrinkles, pigmentation, and roughness over sustained use. Bifida Ferment Lysate has in-vitro evidence for barrier gene expression support. Niacinamide at ~3rd INCI position contributes brightening via melanosome transfer inhibition — well-established at 2–4%. The ceramide/cholesterol/lecithin closing trio adds a meaningful barrier-supportive layer. One of the best-value ferment essences on the K-beauty market.

What it does not

The honest limits

Not equivalent to SK-II Facial Treatment Essence. SK-II's active is Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate (Pitera) — a specific yeast organism. Missha Rx uses Yeast Ferment Extract (Saccharomyces) — related but not identical, and the mechanisms differ. The brand's 'double fermentation' claim has no published comparative data. Results build over weeks to months — no immediate transformation. Not a targeted treatment for severe hyperpigmentation or active acne.

Ritual

How to use

First essence step after cleansing, before any serum. Pour a small amount into palms, press gently into face and neck. Allow 20–30 seconds to fully absorb before continuing. Morning and evening.
