Toner
MEDIHEAL
Watermide Moisture Pad
Ten forms of hyaluronic acid, sodium PCA, betaine, licorice. Cool, calm, hydrate in one step. Useful as a toner, useful as a mini-mask on dry zones. Not a moisturizer — always seal with a cream, especially in winter.
Active ingredient
Sodium Hyaluronate, Beta-Glucan, Madecassoside
Aesu’s POV
Mixed — The "WaterActive" complex and "Icelandic glacial water" are marketing. What actually works: a solid humectant stack — betaine around 3–4%, sodium PCA around 2.5–3%, licorice-derived for soothing (~1.3%), ten hyaluronic acid forms. Fragrance-free, vegan, no essential oils — a clean formula. The 67mm square pads double as mini-masks, which is the genuinely useful part of the format. Worth noting: in dry Swiss winter air, the strong humectants need a moisturizer on top, or they can work in reverse. You're also paying for fabric and packaging — a liquid toner delivers the same actives more cheaply.
What it does
The real benefit
Delivers fast, layered hydration through ten hyaluronic acid forms, sodium PCA, and betaine. Cools and calms the skin on contact — useful for tired faces, post-flight puffiness, hot days, or morning swelling. The 67mm square format doubles as mini-masks on dry zones (forehead, cheeks). Works as a step between cleansing and serum.
What it does not
The honest limits
Does not replace a moisturizer — in Swiss dry air or winter, the humectants can draw moisture out of skin if not sealed with a cream. Does not treat barrier damage, eczema flares, or rosacea on its own: it's comfort, not therapy. Not the most sustainable format (single-use, plastic tub). Does not exfoliate despite the pad shape — no acids in the formula.
Ritual
How to use
Use AM and PM after cleansing. Apply with a cotton pad using gentle sweeping motions, or press the pad directly onto the skin for thirty seconds for a mini-mask effect. Follow with serum and moisturizer as usual. Can be used daily with no restriction.
