Oil Cleanser

Pure Cleansing Oil

A twenty-million-bottle icon, and it earns every sale. Fourteen plant oils — led by soybean, hazelnut, and grape seed — dissolve SPF, makeup, and sebum without stripping, then emulsify cleanly with water. The default K-beauty oil cleanser recommendation for a decade, for good reason.

Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Corylus Avellana (Hazelnut) Seed Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Vegetable Squalane, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil, Camellia Japonica Seed Oil, Tocopherol (Vitamin E)

Aesu’s POV

Buy it for the cleanse, not the botanicals.

True benefitthe primary oil blend is broad, stable, and non-stripping; the emulsifier rinses cleanly. Twenty million units sold is organic word-of-mouth, not advertising.

What it does

The real benefit

Oil cleansers dissolve oil-based impurities — SPF filters, sebum, pigmented cosmetics — then emulsify cleanly with water via sorbeth-30 tetraoleate, leaving no residue. The fourteen-oil profile includes squalane (oxidation-stable, non-comedogenic), argan (oleic and linoleic acid), and camellia japonica (barrier-similar lipid profile), providing genuine conditioning during the cleanse. Rice ferment filtrate contributes mild brightening via fermented amino acids. Consistent double-cleansing with this formula is less stripping than single-step high-pH foaming cleansers.

What it does not

The honest limits

Individual oil concentrations are not disclosed — efficacy claims for specific botanicals (argan, tea tree, green tea) are ingredient-level assumptions, not formulation-level evidence. Tea tree and lavender appear late in the INCI: antimicrobial contribution at this level is likely minimal. Contains bergamot, lavender, and orange peel oils with limonene and linalool — not recommended for clinically fragrance-sensitized skin.

Ritual

How to use

Apply to dry skin with dry hands before your water-based cleanser. Massage in circular motions for thirty to sixty seconds, paying attention to areas with SPF or makeup. Add lukewarm water and massage until the formula emulsifies to a milky texture, then rinse thoroughly. Follow with a low-pH foam or gel cleanser.
